In 1997, Steffen Parratt was an MBA student at the Wharton School, writing business simulations on the side under the name Schuylkill Software. Two were finished: CorporateRaider, on competitive strategy, and MacroTrader, on macroeconomics and markets.

CorporateRaider was used in a Wharton class that year. Steffen was in the room as a student. By his account, it was the most exciting class of the semester.

He shelved them. It was too early and too risky, with a young family to support. The rest of the library he had planned, including an operations game called ProductionWarrior, was never finished.

Twenty-nine years later, the tools have changed. Homeworkware is the rebuild: the original games, and the rest of the library.
